The Birthday Week...

Growing up in the Martin household, we celebrate the coveted Birthday Week. That is, the week leading up to your birthday, you are queen (or king) of the castle, so to speak. You get to choose what you want for dinner, and what activities you play, and my mom hangs a happy birthday banner and balloon all week long.

And so, today begins Marin's First Birthday Week! It's appropriate, because most of the week's activities will be spent preparing for her first birthday party on Saturday. If she could say more than "hi", "baba" "dada" "mama" and "wawa" I'm sure she'd say that she wanted to spend the week, dancing, talking on her phone, playing her miniature musical instruments, singing her favorite songs, and eating as many strawberries as she can get her hands on.

And so we'll do just that. Welcome to the tradition, Marin. Happy Birthday Week!

I can't wait to celebrate the big 0-1 on Saturday!!! I'm even taking the day of her birthday off. (It may have a little something to do with the Superbowl being the day before, and I am desperate for a day off, but it works out perfectly that it falls on her bday!) :)

Happy (almost) birthday, Marin! I am all for celebrating the Birthday week, too! Camdyn's started the day before her birthday on the 28th and is continuing on all the way til this weekend! Wish we could be there to celebrate with you guys! We'll be thinking about you!

Fun, I like that idea. We may need to steal it.

Love the birthday week idea! We celebrate birthday weekend usually but this sounds even better.
You and Jason need to take a minute to celebrate the amazing job that you have done with Marin this past year too.
Congrats on having an (almost) 1 year old!
