When we received our towns Park District booklet in the mail a few months ago (Who has two thumbs and actually reads that thing? Jason.) we anxiously saved last Wednesday night to gather our friends for a Tom Petty/Johnny Cash cover band in the park. The group calls themselves Petty Cash, and aside from enjoying its namesake's music, the catchy group name had me at hello.
So, we gathered our neighbors, packed our coolers, stuffed a couple roadies in our kids stroller baskets (what do you mean this isn't the manufacturers intended use for the space?) and walked to Island Park. We spent the evening laughing with our neighbors while watching the performance with one eye, and Marin shake her grove thang to songs we hope she never fully understands, with the other.
Aunt Lindsay drove over after work to join us since we were all heading to Lake Minnetonka together the next day. Marin loved being gathered with her neighborhood friends and as a bonus, so did we! We feel so very lucky to enjoy our neighbors like we do. What a fun night!
