Well, it's happened. The first blood to speak of in Marin's life. The first mark of her fearless streak, simultaneously initiating my motherhood in what is sure to be filled with many more scrapes and much more blood.
Marin tripped on Friday night and busted her lip open. She was drinking her sippy cup and running through the kitchen at the same time. It wouldn't have been so bad, except that her teeth went through her lower lip. Ouch. I'll spare you the gory details but I will say that although she was wearing a white bib at the time- you would have never known it wasn't red.
She's okay now. Despite what our first thoughts were, she didn't need a stitch, so my parental emergency room inauguration still awaits. After she calmed down, Daddy gave her a bath and read her some stories and she slept like an angel. These pictures were taken the next day, and her lip has continued to look amazingly better every day. It's crazy how quickly a little body heals itself. No more walking with a sippy cup though; we have all learned our lesson.

My poor stinker doodle. If only those teeth waited just a few more months to pop through, huh? ;)
