Lately, one or both of us have been gone or busy too often! This past weekend, the three of us barely left each others sides from Friday night to Sunday night, and it was the BEST!
Friday was Jason and my five year wedding anniversary. We
celebrated by dinner out, just down the street from our new house. Marin came with us, and although she was equally interested in eating Jason's pork chop and the tablecloth, she enjoyed her bottle at the table. Everyone around us (literally every table) commented on how good Marin was. She really was very well behaved. She just sat there like a perfect angel, quietly playing with her toys and looking around at the people, charming the heck out of the neighboring tables. At dinner, as we always do on our anniversary, Jason and I talked about our wedding day and
the memorable days in between. We both agreed that the best of those days by far, was the day that Marin was born. She must have appreciated the kind words that we had for her, because at the end of the night, she reached for the check.

Champaign for Marin's very first football game! Oskee-wow-wow!! She did a great job during the game, taking in the bright orange color everywhere. The game was an
ugly one for the Illini, so we're hoping that she didn't pick up the choice words flying from the mouths of some of the fans near us. Still, we had a great time. Marin loved the band, and snuggled up after the game for a nap right in the middle of our tailgate.

Hinrichs, Great Aunt Vee, Great Uncle Bob, Neal and Nicole. Marin showed off all of her new tricks and made Great Grandpa's day by crawling right to
him, and pulling herself up on his chair. Great Aunt Vee had new toys for Marin- her favorite was a dolly that gave kisses and said, "I love you!" After a delicious meal, we all settled in and spent the night in the peace and quiet of the country air. Marin slept so soundly, we had to literally rouse her the next morning when it was time to eat and get on the road.

Sunday afternoon we went to Marin's future husband's baptism. :) Kai
William, our friend Erica and Craig's new baby was baptised on a gorgeous fall, sunny day! Marin did a
lot of flirting and more hamming it up to try and steel the show, than she did sitting quietly in prayer, but at least she was good. Erica and Craig hosted a fun reception afterwards in their beautiful home, topped off with taffy apples and a special book for everyone! Time together at the end of a busy week is such a blessing. I wouldn't trade all the excitement in the world, for a weekend sitting on the floor with Marin watching her discover; Jason at my side.
