After a year of preparations and planning 180 days in advance, we headed to Walt Disney World at the beginning of May with the kids. We had an absolute blast! It truly is the most magical place on earth. At one point, we were watching the 3pm parade and Anna and Elsa were in it and all of the princesses and the girls lost their minds. They were so excited and thrilled it was like it was 1965 and the Beatles just surprised a high school girls sleepover. I stood there in the street in front of the castle, with Marin on my shoulders and sobbed. That is why you go. That is the magic. Disney does it right. There was never one thing that we did that wasn't "worth it". Not one line, not one wait, not one keeping the kids up way too late. It was all worth it. It was all magical. It is clean, it is organized, it is happy. It is pure magic.
We stayed at the Polynesian. It was perfect. Jason's parents decided kinda last minute to also go at the same time. They did not stay in our hotel, but we did still see them each day for the better part of the day. The kids loved riding rides with them and swimming with Pappy and us one afternoon.
We were gone 10 days in total. The first 5 days we spent in Sandestin at Jason's parents beach house. It was so fun as well. The beach is absolutely beautiful there and perfect for playing at all day. And riding the golf cart everywhere is the way to go. I never want to get in a car again after spending time at the beach on that golf cart. Lindsay also joined us for that part and that was an extra bonus for us and the kids alike!
We can't wait to go back to Disney. The kids were all so so good and such troopers. Wonderful memories made, for sure!
